KURIO began on Instagram in 2025. Social publishing gave its people and culture stories a place to start, but a feed offered limited control over their organisation and lifespan. The website project asked how a recognisable editorial identity could become a lasting publication across languages. The official launch record dates that platform milestone to 18 March 2026. Documented method
NLINEA's case study documents product strategy, UX direction and platform development. The method was structural: bring editorial stories, research, music and community formats into one owned site, with Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean versions. Distinct formats provide room for additional initiatives, while links to the separate KURIO for Brands presence connect editorial and commercial contexts. These choices describe the platform's organisation; they do not establish how every article is translated. Case study
Results & current limits
The actual outcome is a public website, heykurio.com, with an owned home for KURIO's publishing beyond its social feed. This review did not measure reader retention, language demand, translation quality or the effect of that structure on discovery. The available evidence supports a launched platform and a documented design direction. It does not support an AI translation claim or a completed research programme. Public platform
Design interpretation
The design suggests that multilingual publishing involves more than adding language buttons: the same publication needs recognisable formats and a coherent relationship between its different activities. That is a design interpretation, not a measured usability finding.
Next question / proposed
A proposed next study would follow a small set of stories through two language versions, checking navigation, missing content and how readers recognise the relationship between versions. No such comparison is reported here.
